Learn the A-B-Seas on August 24 with Dr. Kent Carpenter

August 17, 2011 - 12:50 pm 4 Comments

The first step to action is awareness. I fell in deep love with marine conservation after I discovered that the Philippines was the center of marine biodiversity on Earth, thanks to a study done by Dr. Kent Carpenter. I quote him and discuss his study in ALL of my lectures and presentations.

And OMG he’s coming here. Save Palawan Seas Foundation of Jewelmer is bringing him here to talk about (inhale) “Scientific Discovery and the Urgent Need for Conservation at the Philippine Epicenter of Marine Biodiversity.” In other words, saving the Philippine seas.

Everyone is invited to come–divers, scientists, swimmers, water lovers, surfers, marine bio geeks, Filipinos, foreigners… Everyone. The sea welcomes all those who want to learn more about her :)

I’ll be hosting the event, yey!

The crowd is sure to be a mix of government officials, NGO representatives, mermaids and human beings, so it will be a great opportunity to meet new people. There will also be an underwater photography exhibit by the Network of Underwater Digital Imagers (NUDI).

Hope to sea you there ♥

Oh oh oh and please vote for Save Philippine Seas at the Globe Tatt Awards. Our 3-month old movement gained enough support to land in TWO categories: The Advocate and #Thought-Mover. Vote now and spread the word!

Daghang salamat!
